An alumni reunion is often the best way to maintain contacts and reminisce. Therefore, RWTH Aachen alumni Yilin Jin (degree in electronics) and Nanhui Qi (degree in metallurgy) decided to organise a reunion in a Munich restaurant for all former Chinese students.
This year’s celebration brought together over forty alumni and family members. Many of them live and work in the greater Munich area, mostly at large companies such as Infineon, BMW, Huawei or Audi. But even those from more distant areas such as Düsseldorf or Frankfurt turned up in large numbers.
In the afternoon, three alumni gave exciting short presentations:
- Siheng Chen, a 2012 graduate in electrical engineering, reported on the digital transformation of the energy transition.
- Yilin Jin spoke about the fundamentals of intellectual property.
- Qixuan Jin, who graduated in 2015 in electrical engineering, spoke about the concept and success factors of hidden champions.
This was followed by a joint dinner in a restaurant. Beforehand, a video made especially for this meeting was shown by Mr. Peter Hartges, China and Thailand Coordinator of the RWTH, and the well-known Chinese professor Yubao Guo. The delicious Chinese food and lively conversations went on until midnight, when the restaurant had to close. The meeting left fond memories, making it likely to take place again in the future.
